Don Ameche Hampton, who lived a remarkable 82 years, bid adieu on July 24, 2024, in sunny The Villages, FL. Born on August 31, 1941, in the charming town of Leitchfield, KY, Don's life was a grand adventure from start to finish.Dons boundless curiosity and zest for life led him on global escapades first as a U.S. Army Sergeant, and then with his family by his side. He embraced diverse cultures and exotic locales with open arms, always collecting stories and memories like souvenirs. When he wasnt exploring new corners of the world, youd find him at his beloved Publix, where he had a knack for uncovering the best buy-one-get-one-free deals. His shopping cart was as adventurous as his travel itinerary! An insatiable reader, Don found joy in the pages of countless books. Whether diving into thrillers, espionage, or westerns, he reveled in the thrill of discovery that each new book brought. His endless enthusiasm for literature made him a treasure trove of fascinating facts and entertaining tales, which he eagerly shared with friends and family.Dons unwavering faith was the cornerstone of his life. His deep love for the Lord guided him through every adventure, every deal, and every page turned. He embraced his spirituality with the same passion he brought to his explorations, finding peace and joy in his faith that he generously shared with all who knew him.Dons life was a rich tapestry of travel, bargain-hunting triumphs, and literary journeys, all stitched together with the love he showered upon his family and friends. Though he will be profoundly missed, his legacy of exploration, smart shopping, and storytelling will forever inspire those who knew him.He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Mary Jean Hampton, his daughter Donnetta Jean Hampton, and his son Don Randall Hampton. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Virginia, and his three wonderful children: Andrew Hampton, Jennifer Treadway, and Lori Moore.Heres to Dona true explorer at heart, a master of the shopping aisle, a bibliophile, and a devout believer whose stories and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
