Dora Hixson, 95, of Keystone Heights passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in Orange Park.She was born in Coaldan, VA, on August 12, 1918, to the late Nannie (Coleman) and James Griffith. Dora moved to Detroit at the start of World War II and became a Rosie the Riveter, working on P3s.Dora was a faithful member of Hope Baptist church in Theressa.Dora is survived by two children; Bobby White, of Dearborn Heights, MI; Tim Hixson, of Orange Park, FL, sisters: Betty Young of Jewell Ridge, VA, and Ann Patrick of Graston, VA. She is also survived by six grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 18 great-great grandchildren.A viewing will be held at Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home in Keystone Heights, 340 E. Walker Drive in Keystone Heights from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 3rd. There will also be a viewing and funeral at Cadillac Memorial Cemetery in Westland, MI on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 3 p.m. Arrangements are by JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME of Keystone Heights, 352-473-3176. hide
