Doriene M. Cothran

Mrs. Doriene M. Cothran age 70 of Starke passed away Thursday, June 27, 2019, at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. She was born October 18, 1948, in Douglas, Georgia to Vernon and Louise (Clemons) Mobley. Mrs. Cothran had been a longtime resident of Starke and worked for Riverwood and Windsor Manor Nursing Homes as a CNA. She attended Heilbron Springs Baptist Church and enjoyed watching CMT and going shopping, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of forty-three years Albert Cothran and her sister Glenda Jones. Survivors are her two children Vernon Cothran (Linda) of Lulu and Sue Silcox (Ray) of Starke. Also left behind are five siblings Barbara Crews, Theresa Brown, Kindal Mobley, Steve Mobley, Alice Surrency and Vernon Mobley. She was also loving called "Granny" by five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Cothran will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 2, 2019, in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Crosby Lake Cemetery. Arrangements are by JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 620 East Nona Street, Starke, FL 32091.
