Mrs. Doris June Buckley 85 of Melrose passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022, in Gainesville following a brief illness. She was born October 14, 1936, in Macclenny to the late Ralph and Bertie (Crews) McDavid. Prior to graduating from high school, Mrs. Buckley was hired by the Federal Reserve to begin her career in banking. After several mergers she decided to move her career to Keystone State Bank where she served many years as a banking officer before retiring. Mrs. Buckley was a Charter member of Trinity Baptist Church and loved sewing; she made dresses for Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Outreach and assisted in making several of the Easter Pageant banners for the church. Mrs. Buckley was also a wonderful cook, but most of all she was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and "Granny". Mrs. Buckley is survived by her loving husband of nearly 66 years Jim Buckley of Melrose and their children Diane Buckley DeGraff (Stephen) of Melrose, David Buckley (Patty) of Easley , South Carolina, and Danny Buckley (Tina) of Alachua. She was also lovingly called "Granny" by grandchildren Rebecca Nelson (Chris), Marina Buckley, Michael Buckley, Jessica McCoy (Marcus) and Garrett Buckley, along with great grandchildren Christopher Nelson, Kyleigh June Nelson, Brock Nelson, and Colton Daniel McCoy. The family will receive friends at Trinity Baptist Church beginning at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2022, and funeral services beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brandon Denmark and Pastor Scott Stanland officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Cemetery in Lacrosse. In lieu of flowers the family had asked that memorial donations be given to the Quilts of Love at Trinity Baptist Church, P.O.
