Doris B. Delance

Ms. Doris B. DeLance, age 92, of Starke passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 in Gainesville at Haven Hospice at E. T. York Care Center after an extended illness. Doris was born in Rutland, Vermont on November 26, 1925 to Park John and Grace Irene (Stoodley) Blanchard. She was a Registered Nurse her entire working life and taught nursing around the world. Doris enjoyed gardening, sewing, and visiting people. She also loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. Doris will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings. Doris is survived by her children, Diane F. DeLance (Chuck Edmiston) of Montana, Donna D. Green (Mark Green, whom she considered a son) of Vermont, Judy A. DeLance of Vermont, and William F. "Bill" DeLance Jr. of Starke; along with four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She is now at peace and has gone home to see her dad.A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Pastor Steve Conner officiating.
