JOHNSON: Funeral services for Doris Leigh Johnson, 89, who passed away on April 22, 2024, will be held Friday at 9:00 AM from the graveside in Jacksonville National Cemetery, with Dr. Sonny Foraker officiating. Mrs. Johnson was born in Churchill, Tennessee and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville, Florida. She was an Accountant for Bank of America, and Cracker Barrell Restaurant. She loved her family and friends. She also loved NASCAR, Jaguars, shopping, cooking and baking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Stover. Later she married again to Charles Eugene Johnson, whom also preceded her death as well as her Parents, Roy Lee Monroe and Ida Josephine Davis and 12 other brothers and sisters, Ella Mae Monroe Herron, Alberta Beatrice Monroe, Cornie Berniece Monroe Taylor, Annalou Monroe, Oscar Franklin Monroe, John Paul Monroe, Etyhel Lou Monroe Surcey, Edna Lorene Monroe Edwards, Margie Josephine Monroe Peak, Helen Monroe Emilgholz, Geneva Monroe Cobb, and James Winifred Monroe. She is survived by her 2 step-daughters, Melody Jorudd and Michelle Canaday; Also 3 grandchildren, Jennica, Devin and Chandler whom she will be deeply missed by. And her nephew, William R. Monroe. The last years of her life she met her best friend, Frank Phinizy. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in her memory to either the American Society or a charity of your choice.
