Dorothy "Dottie" E. Clark 99, went home to be with the Lord on December 19, 2023. She was born on January 17, 1924, in Columbus, GA. She worked for Gulf Life Insurance Co. and retired from Transamerica Insurance Co. She also volunteered for years as a Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. Dotties faith was an integral part of her life. She was a long-time member of the downtown Jacksonville First Baptist Church, and, at the time of her death, a member of Englewood Baptist Church. Dotties quick humor, wit and gentle way made her a joy to be around. Her heart felt care for others made her easy to love. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Bemis "B.B." Clark and her son Richard Williams. Survivors include; daughter in law, Karen Williams, four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Dottie wished to recognize her granddaughter, Dorothy Clinedinst who traveled from Washington State to help with her care whenever needed. She was also blessed with her caring neighbor Kathy Pughakoff, whom she described as her "rock and shield". Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32216 . The Reverend Billy Jones, will conduct an 11:00 AM chapel service at the same address. Interment will be held at 12:15 PM at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville. A reception will be held following the internment at Englewood Baptist Church, 5675 Kennerly Road, Jacksonville, Florida.
