Dorothy Juanita Eggers

Dorothy Eggers, daughter of Tully and Louise Norman passed away September 18, 2018. She was born August 11, 1924 and was 94 years of age. She was preceded in death by her husband "Barney" Eggers and her sister Helen Sapp. She has three caring children, John Eggers of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Barbara Duffy and son-in-law, Robson, of Salisbury, North Carolina and Beverly Byers of Jacksonville, Florida, one brother, Gerald and sister-in-law, Annette. She has eight grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.She was born and raised in Bradford County on her parents farm. After high school graduation she left the farm to live and work in Jacksonville where she met her husband to be, Barney Eggers from Chester, Illinois. They fell in love and married in 1945. They raised their family in Jacksonville and upon retirement they built a house on the old family homestead and moved back to Starke where they lived together for many years. They loved to play golf and have get-togethers with family. They were faithful members of First Baptist Church in Starke for many years. Dorothy was a very intelligent, independent woman that lived her life with conviction to her faith and love for her family.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at First Baptist of Starke. Burial will take place at Crosby Lake Cemetery. Services will be officiated by Rev.
