Hansen, Dorothy J., 89, of Gainesville passed away on Monday, October 6th, 2014 at the E.T. York Hospice Care Center. Dorothy was a resident of Signature Health Care.Dorothy was born in Brooklyn, NY on July 22nd, 1925. Dorothy and her husband Arne moved to Florida from New York in 1992. Dorothy enjoyed shopping and especially thrift stores; she loved jewelry, especially earrings. She was a Catholic and in her later years liked playing bingo.Dorothy is predeceased by her husband Arne Hansen and is survived by her daughters Jane Hansen of Gainesville and Barbara Hansen of New York. A sister, Ann Bespa of Missouri and her longtime friend, shopping companion and care giver Bridgette Lewis.There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Patrick's Catholic Church on Friday, October 10, 2014 at 1:00pm with interment to follow at Forest Meadows Memorial Park Central.
