Dorothy Ann Roberts Lunda Dorothy Ann Roberts Lunda, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on January 11, 2012, following a long illness. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Donald Louis Lunda, and two children: Eric J. Lunda and Robin L. Vanderwal (son-in-law Richard). She is also survived by four grandchildren and three cousins. Dorothy was born on October 8, 1927 to Clemadean and Clyde Roberts of Baldwinsville, New York. Following her mother's death in 1932, Dorothy was raised by her grandmother, Rosa Reid, and her uncle, John Reid, in cooperation with her father. Donald's career took their family to Syracuse, Buffalo, Philadelphia, Chicago, and finally to Jacksonville, where they have lived since 1981. Wherever life took them, Dorothy was well-known and admired for her leadership and organizational skills, as well as her thoughtful, loving, and caring consideration for others. This purpose was demonstrated through her active participation in numerous civic organizations, which included serving as PTA President, co-founding the Mandarin Newcomers' Club, and co-founding the Women's Auxiliary of Hospice North East Florida. Dorothy also served as Chair of the Christian Women's Club in both Philadelphia and Chicago, and was an active member of South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church for over 25 years, where she served as Presbyterian Women's Moderator, Church Elder, Chair of the Evangelism and Worship Committees, Search Committee member, Church Librarian, and most recently, Chair of Homebound Ministries. Dorothy was honored with the 2001 Honorary Membership Award and was recognized as a South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church Living Saint for her service to Christ, His Church, and her community.
