We are sad to announce the passing of Dorothy Elizabeth Weaver, who died on April 1, 2026, at the age of 76, in Gainesville, Florida. Born on November 2, 1949, in Sanford, Florida, Dorothy embraced life with an infectious spirit and an outgoing personality that touched the hearts of everyone she met.

Dorothy was a devoted sister to Jo Ann Roane and Pauline Schmierer, and their bond was one filled with love and laughter. An accomplished antique appraiser and auctioneer, she found joy in her work, transforming her passion for history and artistry into a successful career. Her vibrant personality shone through in everything she did, whether she was matching clients with coveted treasures or sharing vintage stories that brought history to life. She is also survived by her \nieces Kimberly Brooks Hodges, Kelli Olson, and Jessica Adams (Wes) Hee and nephews Daniel Roane (Kristen)  and Charles Olson.   Predeceased by her nephew Aaron Roane ( Sarah ).

Beyond her professional endeavors, Dorothy cherished the simple pleasures of life. She found peace in her garden, where she nurtured plants with the same love she offered to those around her. Dancing was another of her passions, and she often delighted in the rhythm of music, moving effortlessly to its beat, a reflection of her soul's energy and zest for life.

As we remember Dorothy, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by warmth, kindness, and an unwavering love for family and friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents : Joseph Schmierer, Mildred Schmierer and sisters, Millie Schmierer Brooks, and Margie Schmierer Olson.
