Douglas Charles Thomas FreemanMarch 16, 1988 - January 23, 2025It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life beautifully lived that we announce the passing of our son Douglas Charles Thomas Freeman on January 23, 2025, after a year's long battle with cancer. Born on March 16, 1988, in Jacksonville, Florida, Douglas was a shining light who embraced each day with joy, positivity, and unwavering kindness. His legacy of love, compassion, and happiness will forever be remembered and celebrated.Douglas found immense joy in lifes simple pleasures. Whether enjoying peaceful days fishing and boating with his dad, skillfully crafting as a talented carpenter, or indulging in his favorite Taco Bell meal, he approached every moment with a grateful heart and boundless enthusiasm. His love for animals and the outdoors was a testament to his gentle and compassionate nature.Douglas had a rare gift for making those around him feel loved and appreciated. His warmth, generosity, and passion for life were evident in everything he did, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will continue to inspire and bring comfort to his family, friends, and all whose lives he touched.Douglas is deeply missed by his devoted parents, Doug and Charlotte Freeman, and Kathy Mixon; his loving sisters, Nikki Farmer, Willow Freeman, Tina Mixon, and Jessica Helmer; his cherished grandmother, Betty Mixon; and his longtime girlfriend, Antonella Rigsby. He is also fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, nephews, and niece, with Raelyn Sanders holding a uniquely special place in his heart as his favorite niece.To honor and celebrate Douglass extraordinary life, a visitation will be held at 11 a.m., followed by a service on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at George H. Hewell and Sons Funeral Home, located at 4140 University Blvd S, Jacksonville, FL 32216.
