Dr. Howard Harper Bumpers

Howard Harper Bumpers went home to be with His Lord on Saturday, November 4, 2017. He was 82 years old. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and wife of 45 years, True Bumpers. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Gerrie Bumpers, his daughter Cindy Bates and husband Carter, son Eddie Bumpers and wife Tess, daughter Cristil Brightwell and husband Duece, step daughter Tammy McGuire and husband John, step son Clifford Johnson and wife Kim. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. He was the pastor of St Augustine Road Baptist Church for 44 years. His love for Jesus, his family and the church has led many people to Jesus Christ. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6:00 8:00 PM at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in St. Augustine Road Baptist Church.
