Mr. Smith was born on Feb. 11, 1935 in Waukon, IA to the late Loren & Florence (Mahoney) Smith and was a retired Maintenance worker in the concrete industry. Mr. Smith was also a member of the St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Hudson, IA, and loved hunting and fish camping. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Eileen (Barnes) Smith of Hudson, IA and their children: Terry L. Smith of Jacksonville, FL, Kristi Bauer (Steve) of Atlanta, GA, Lynn Schaefer (Tom) of Rochester, MN, and Kevin E. Smith (Carol) of Orange Park, FL. He also survived by his siblings: Darlene Frana (Dennis), & Kate Hovden both of Decorah, IA, Donald Smith (Joyce) of Keosauqua, IA and a sister in law; Luann Smith of Decorah, IA. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his sisters: Mary Frana & Rita Smith, brothers: James & Norman Smith, and a grandson; Cory Matzen. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
