Mr. Earl D. Stancil age 86 of Keystone Heights passed away at his home Saturday, May 16, 2020, following an extended illness. He was born March 13, 1934, in Wauchula to Fred and Myrtice (McMillan) Stancil. Mr. Stancil earned his Bachelors Degree from ASU and retired as the Accounting Manager from Georgia Pacific following many years of employment. Growing up he was very active in sports and was team captain of his football and basketball teams; he also loved to go snow and water skiing until just a few years ago. After moving to Keystone Heights in 1973 Mr. Stancil and his wife became members of the Community Church of Keystone Heights where he stayed very active until his health began to decline. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his brother Lewis Stancil. Left behind is his loving and devoted wife of 63 years Nina (Sumner) Stancil of Keystone Heights and their three children David Stancil (Pilar) of Sarasota, John Stancil (Tami) of Jacksonville and Patti Varrelmann (Darrel) of Diablo, California along with a sister Geraldine Brock of Dover. He was also lovingly called "Poppy" or "Pop" by his seven grandchildren Jason, Matt, Cody, Jordan, Dexter, Duke and Georgia along with six great grandchildren Atticus, Abel-leigh, Anderson, Liam, June and Ford. Due the Covid-19 pandemic there will be no public announcement of services. Interment will be at Keystone Heights Cemetery.
