A Funeral Mass for Edgar Poe Trapnell, 89, of Jacksonville, FL will be held on Friday, December 11, 2015 at 10AM in the Assumption Catholic Church, 2403 Atlantic Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207 with Father Jose Pathaplamthottiyi as celebrant. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. First born son of Edgar Poe Trapnell, Sr. and Marguerite Bryson Trapnell, born in Augusta, GA on April 1, 1926. Died in Jacksonville, FL, on December 4, 2015. Predeceased by his beloved wife Margaret Allen Baynard in 1998, his firstborn son, Edgar Paul Trapnell in 1981 and his sister Virginia Trapnell Murray in 2004. Ed is survived by his children; Karen Trapnell (Don) Underhill, Kathleen Trapnell Ryan, Lisa Trapnell (Ray) Durbin, Frank Joseph (Donna) Trapnell and daughter-in-law Vicki F. (Paul) Trapnell, his sister Kathryn Trapnell Carter, and his brother J. Bryson Trapnell, 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren. Edgar graduated from Richmond Academy in Augusta, Georgia and attended the University of Georgia. He served in the Army during World War II, in the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions. He was also a member of the Teamsters and retired from Ryder/ P-I-E Nationwide. He was a member of the Church of the Assumption in Jacksonville, FL. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 between the hours of 6-8PM at George H.
