Edna Baker Gay, 89, of Gainesville, Florida, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2023. Edna was born in Hazard, Kentucky on August 6, 1933 to George Dewey and Bertha Lillian Adams Baker. Edna was married to Julian Arlan Gay. Edna was a housewife and enjoyed having company over and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking for her family and loved raising her greyhound dogs. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lillian and George Baker; her brothers, Paul, George, William and Bobby; her sisters, Edith, Margaret, Barbara, Ann; and her daughter, Sandra. Left behind to honor and cherish Edna are her children, Robert, Janice, Theresa, Timothy, and Steven; her grandchildren, Troy, Cecil, David, Julian, Melissa, Clayton, Aaron, Ryan, and Thomas. She had 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at the High Springs Cemetery, 23998 NW 192nd St, High Springs, Florida.
