Edward "Clay" Hixon Edward "Clay" Hixon, 90, went peacefully to the Lord on July 23, 2012 after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his best friend and wife, Esther of 55 years along with his 2 children Pam (Mark) and Randy (Charlene), 2 grand-daughters Brittany Bryant and Paige Hixon and a great-grandson Joey. Clay was born on November 7,1921 in Union Point, GA and grew up in Augusta, GA. He attended Richmond Academy. From there he joined the U.S. Navy. He proudly served in the Pacific Theatre during W.W. II. After serving for 21 years he retired as a Chief Machinist Mate and made Jacksonville his home. Clay enjoyed golf, camping, cruises and family vacations. He will be dearly missed by friends and family. A Memorial Service celebrating Clay's life will be held Friday, August 3rd at 10:30 a.m. at St. Marks Lutheran Church; 3976 Hendricks Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
