Mr. Edward Mike Michal Prokop age 66, of Waldo passed away at his home, Monday, November 18, 2013. He was born in Czechoslovakia on May 28, 1947 to the late Edward Michal and Anna (Gmitrova) Prokop and had also served in the Czechoslovak Peoples Army. Mike had moved to Waldo seven years ago from Keystone Heights and retired following 20 years of service with Fabco-Air Industries in Gainesville as a Machinist. He was of the Catholic Faith and enjoyed taking his grandkids fishing and watching soccer. His wife Janice and son Fredrick Keim had preceded him in death. Survivors are his three children; Tania Callahan (Scott) of Keystone Heights, Kim Vasquez (Frank) of Ocala and Robert Bobby Keim (Tammy) of Keystone Heights; siblings, Ernest Prokop, Boris Prokop, Natasha Prokop, Anna Prokop, Emmuel Prokop and Evaughn Prokop all Czechoslovakia. Also left behind are his twelve grandchildren and one great granddaughter. A memorial service for Mike will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in the St. William Catholic Church with Father Mike Williams presiding.
