Edwin Reid

Edwin Reid moved on peacefully in his home in Gainesville, Florida at age 92.Edwin was born on October 24, 1926 in Kingston, Jamaica to his parents, Doris Burger and Benjamin Reid. Edwin graduated from Kingston Technical School. He then moved to Brooklyn, New York as a carpenter and eventually married Mercia Williams. The Reid's then moved to Gainesville, Florida where Edwin retired and dedicated his remaining time to take up with friends made nearby and caring for his grandchildren.Edwin was a wise and strong man with a passion for personal growth and the growth of those surrounding him. He spent most of his free time building furniture and making small improvements on the home, he and Mrs. Reid, resided in.Mr. Reid is survived by his Wife, Mercia, his four children, Tony, Judith, Cecil, Edwin, and his nine Grandchildren; preceded in death by his daughter, Dahlia.Mr. Reid will be shown at a viewing on March 8, 2019 at 6 p.m. at Forest Meadows Funeral Home Chapel. 725 NW 23rd AVE, Gainesville, FL.
