Effie Vonnell Cahill, 86, passed away on November 6, 2020 in Gainesville, Florida. Effie was born on March 7, 1934 in Georgia to Berry Giffis, Sr. and Eva Smith Griffis.She is predeceased by her parents, Berry and Eva Griffis; her husband, Walter Cahill; her daughter, Linda Smith; her brothers, Willie Griffis, Berry Griffis, Jr., and Marvin Griffis; and her sister, Dot Cruce.She is survived by her son, Joe (Betty Jane) Chesser of Branford, Florida; her daughter, Wanda (Richard) LeBrun of High Springs, Florida; her brothers, Norman Griffis of Virginia and Barney (Linda) Cruce of High Springs, FL; her sister Linda (Ira) Copeland of High Springs; her stepsons, Jack Cahill and David Cahill, 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at the Evans Carter Funeral Home.
