Memorial services for Mrs. Eleanor Marie Himmelstein, 100, will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, March 17th in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South, with Dr. Terry N. Collins of Southpoint Baptist Church officiating. Born December 7, 1914 in Nahma, Michigan, to Fern and Allen Lucia, Mrs. Himmelstein died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in Fleming Island, Florida. Eleanor was Secretary to the Editor and Publisher of the Daytona Beach News Journal for 20 years, retiring in 1990. She was predeceased by her husband Fred J., a son, Jack, and a daughter Gretchen Mitchell. She leaves two daughters, Nancy J. (Vernon) Kelly of St. Augustine, Florida and Patricia Smith of Barberville, Florida; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
