Mrs. Eleanor Highsmith LyonsMrs. Eleanor Highsmith Lyons age 79, of Starke passed away December 20, 2011 at Kindred Hospital in Green Cove Springs. Mrs. Lyons was born on March 31, 1932 the last of nine children, in Waycross, Georgia to the late Henry Rodgers and Nancy Elizabeth Dowling Highsmith and was a longtime area resident. She was a homemaker and a member of Sampson City Church of God. Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards on the computer, and listening to the Grand Ole Opry. She was preceded in death by her husband Perry Lyons in 2001, daughter Linda Eunice in 1995, and granddaughter Kasadee Warren in 2008. Survivors are: son: Phillip Lyons (Sheila) of Starke daughters: Phyllis Warren (Buddy); Mary Ann Lyons; Denise Zipperer (Randall) all of Starke; twelve grandchildren; several great grandchildren. The family will receive friends in the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL, 620 E Nona St. in Starke on Thursday, December 22, 2011 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be on Friday, December 23, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL with Reverend Gene Bass and Reverend Johnny Frampton officiating.
