Obituary

On Sunday June 21, 2026, Elizabeth Pauline Blackford (Reed), age 101, moved from her earthly residence to heaven. She was born in Lewis County Kentucky June 1, 1925 to John Elwood and Minnie Ona Reed (Fetters). She was the second youngest of 9 children. Her family moved to Hancock County Indiana before she started school. At 17 years she met and married the love of her life, Frances Eugene Blackford, on August 20, 1942.

Just like her mother before her Elizabeth had nine children, which produced 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, 23 great-great grandchildren, and one great-great-great grandchildren.

She was a dedicated mother that prayed continuously for so many and was always busy doing arts and craft. She won numerous blue ribbons for her paintings and dolls.

She is survived by her loving children Donna (Dave) Hershberger, Connie (David) Reeves, Frances (Diane) Blackford Jr, Michael Blackford, Beth Blackford, and Kevin (Kathy) Blackford

She was preceded in death by her parents, eight siblings, her devoted husband Frances, daughter Paula Jean Brooks, son-in-law Benny Brooks, sons Mark Anthony Blackford and Terry Reed Blackford, and two grandchildren Kenneth Ray and Maegan Hayes.

Most important in Elizabeth's life was her Lord and Savor Jesus whom she praised and worshiped her entire life and was a dedicated member of Vision Tabernacle Church of High Springs FL.

The family extends their deepest gratitude and thanks to pastors Lawrence and Siri Haley for their years of friendship and service as well as the staff at Haven Hospice.

Committal services will be at Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell FL on Wednesday June 24 2026 at 10:30 with Pastors Lawrence and Siri officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Elizabeth's memory to Vision Tabernacle Church of High Springs FL.
