Mrs. Elizabeth "Sharon" Dobbs, age 71, of Lawtey passed away at Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City Saturday April 30, 2016. She was born in Jacksonville on June 28, 1944 to the late Goode and Frances (Darsey) Carr. Mrs. Dobbs had been a longtime resident of Lawtey and retired after 40 years with Blue Cross Blue Shield as their Director of Marketing. She enjoyed traveling to the mountains, flowers, making arts and crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her son, Charles Daniel "Danny" Dobbs had preceded her in death. Mrs. Dobbs is survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles Dobbs and their daughter, Melinda Gatlin (Bill) of Lawtey, along with three grandchildren and six great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 between 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 5, 2016 in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Pastor Troy Dixon officiating. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville.
