Ella Virginia Dykes Ekard age 99 of Starke, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at her home. Mrs. Ekard was born on October 30, 1921 in Hazelhurst, Georgia to the late Eugene and Cleo "McDonald" Dykes. Ella was a long time and faithful member of Madison Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James Ekard and Rogers Dansby; daughter, Lisa Ekard Kelly and grandson, Benjamin Anderson Kelly. Survivors include, her daughter, Eugenia Whitehead of Starke and grandson, James Donald (Millie) Kelly of Pennsylvania. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2012 at Crosby Lake Cemetery with Pastor Charles Warren officiating. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in honor of Ella Virginia Ekard to the Madison Street Baptist Church music fund: https://madisonstreet.org/give/. Arrangements are by JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME OF STARKE 904-964-6200.
