Eloise M. Goodman, 86, of Starke died July 30 in the E. T. York Hospice Care Center in Gainesville, Florida following an extended illness.Mrs. Goodman was born on July 29, 1926 in Stuart, Florida. She was raised in Hampton, Florida and lived all of her adult life in Starke, Florida. She was a homemaker and of the Christian Church faith. Eloise worked in the retail industry for many years and also enjoyed making her own works of ceramics with a kiln in her converted garage. Many in Starke and the surrounding area called her a Local Icon of Ceramics.She was the youngest daughter of the four children born to the late Ethel and James Julius Pickren of Stuart. Her brothers and sister who all preceded her in death were: James J. Pickren, of Worthington Springs; Cyril Pickren of Cave City, Arkansas, and her sister, Virginia Gish of Murray, Kentucky.Mrs. Goodman was also preceded in death by her husband, popular Starke businessman and Politician, Seeber D. Goodman who died in 2001 after a long illness; and by her daughter, Donna Janel Goodman Orr who died in 2008.Mrs. Goodman is survived by two daughters: Harriet Goodman Mulder, of Tucson, Arizona and Chicago, Illinois and by Olivia Libby Goodman Miller, of Starke; two grandchildren, Tim Harper of Starke, Florida and Karla Harper of Starke; as well as four great-grandchildren Delon Harper, Tyvon Johnson, Adriahnna Harper and Destini Harper, all of Starke. She also had one great-great grandchild, Tymber Harper.A one hour viewing reception will be held at 10am on Thursday, August 2, 2012 in the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL, 620 E. Nona St. in Starke with funeral services following at 11:00 AM. Interment will be immediately afterward at Dekle Cemetery in Lake Butler.In lieu of flowers, donations to the E. T.
