Emily Tate Cannon Emily Tate Cannon (AKA Mema) went to be with the Lord on October 28, 2013. She was born in McRae, GA on February 11, 1930. Emily was a member of Glynlea Grace UMC.She retired from the City of Jacksonville after 25 years of service as a clerk typist. Emily enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, working in her yard, and loving all of her kitties. She is survived by her devoted sons Steve and Gary, daughter in law Pam, grandsons Joel (Connie) and Adam (Victoria), great grandchildren Jeremy, Sydney, Haley, and Zoe. She is also survived by Lisa Hunnicutt (Jim), Pauline Kelly, Herschel Brookins, Fred Hodges (Betty), Mavis Youngblood (Roger), along with many other family members and friends. The viewing will be held at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S. from 6-8pm on Friday, November 1st. A celebration of Emilys life will be held at Glynlea Grace UMC at 6429 Atlantic Blvd on Saturday, November 2nd at 11am, followed by a graveside service at Oaklawn Cemetery on San Jose Blvd. A special thank you to the staff of Memorial Hospital.Arrangements are under the direction of George H.
