Emily Nell Love Carpenter born 8/27/27, passed July 5, 2023 at the age of 95.Emily was born in Trenton, Fl to Maxey Dell Love Sr. and Lucille Arrington Love. She is Proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Sibley Dennis Carpenter, and brother Maxey Dell Love Jr.She was a graduate of George Peabody College and the University of Florida. She taught school for 41 years. She was the library media specialist at J.J. Finley Elementary for 30 years. She was known as the "Cat in the Hat" Lady and loved to teach children to read and use the Dewey decimal system. She was a past member of Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Society and the retired teachers association. She was an active member of the University Church of Christ where she made many lifelong friends.Survivors include her daughter Laurie Carpenter, Son Michael Carpenter, daughter in law Tina Prevatt Carpenter, Grandchildren Jessica (Carpenter) Whittaker, Robert Andrews, Adam Andrews, Juliann Carpenter, 2 Great Grandchildren, and several extended family members that have loved her greatly.Services will be graveside at Trenton Cemetery on Monday, July 10, 2023 at 10am.Expressions of sympathy may be made to University City Church of Christ or Mt.
