Emily Edna Dukes

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Emily Edna Dukes, who left us peacefully on January 19, 2026, at the age of 81. Born on June 10, 1944, in Garden Homes, Oregon, Emily lived a full and vibrant life, filled with love for her family and a passion for simple joys.

Emily was a devoted wife and mother, always putting her family first. She is survived by her four loving children: sons Neal Dukes, Rufus Dukes Jr., and Frederick Gagnon, and daughter Leanna Millington. She had 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; as well as one neice Angela Weeks. Emily's love for her family was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Emily was married to her late husband Rufus Elbert Dukes Sr for 32 years. She was preceded in death by her parents Harry Mangouranen and AnnaBell Lockard; and her brother Fred Mangouranen.

Beyond family, Emily had a zest for life that shone through in her many passions. She adored her dogs, never missed an opportunity for karaoke, and delighted in the simple pleasures of oysters and ice cream. Her laughter and spirit touched everyone she met, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In honor of Emily's life, we will be holding a visitation from 10:00 am to 11:30 am with a funeral service at 11:30 am on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Moloney-Hewell Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd. S Jacksonville, FL 32216. She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery, 4535 N Main St, Jacksonville, FL 32206 immediately following. Friends and family are invited to join us to celebrate her memory and share stories of the joy and light she brought into our lives.
