Obituary

Emmett Edward Cellon II, 76, of Gainesville, FL passed away January 30, 2012 at his home in Turkey Creek Forest. Ed was born in Gainesville on March 19, 1935 to Emmett Edward Cellon and Elsie Williams Cellon. He was a loyal friend, devoted husband, and loving father.Ed was a graduate of Gainesville High School and the University of Florida with a BA Degree in Accounting. He played lead trumpet for the Fighting Gators Marching Band and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He worked 21 years for the State of Florida as Bureau Chief of State Payrolls in Tallahassee before retiring to Gainesville.His wife, Virginia Saunders Cellon, and daughter, Stephanie Ann Cellon, preceded him in death. He is survived by his sons, John Cellon (Bobbie) of Cosby, TN and William Cellon of Gainesville; sister, Clara Cellon Horton; niece, Lavenia Horton (Mike) Carter; nephew, Wendell Horton (Lisa); and great-niece, Clarissa Horton, all of Arcadia, FL; 3 grandchildren and4 great grandchildren.At Ed's request, there will be no funeral service.
