Mrs. Era Walker GeigerMrs. Era Evelyn Walker Geiger age 83, of Starke passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at her home. She was born on October 12, 1928 in Berlin, GA to the late John L. Walker, Jr. and Lillie Mae (Bennett) Walker and was a longtime area resident. Era was a retired Wal-Mart Greeter, worked at Kochs Drug Store for 25 years, and was a seamstress for Big Dads in Starke. She was a member of First Baptist Church, enjoyed Bingo, having her hair done, and spending time with her family. Preceding her in death was her husband of 33 years Otis Cecil Geiger in 1976 and her son Anthony Cecil Geiger. Survivors are: daughter: Charlotte Geiger Vallellanes (Richard) of Alachua; son: William Billy Bonnie Geiger (Debbie) of Starke; sister: Bobbie Jean Loveless (David) of Marietta, GA; sisters-in-laws: Jean Walker of Milledgeville, GA and Retha Bennett of Starke; grandchildren: Timothy Geiger, LaRae Geiger, Bonnie Geiger Griffis, Eric Geiger, Bill Geiger, Sarah Wilson Villaverde, Alex Wigglesworth; thirteen great grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 620 E. Nona St. in Starke on Friday, June 29, 2012 from 5-7 PM. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the First Baptist Church of Starke with Reverend Ben Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Crosby Lake Cemetery.
