Ernest "Bill" Riddling

USN(RET) Ernest "Bill" Riddling, Sr. age 97, of Melrose passed away at Gainesville Health Care Center, Monday, April 25, 2016. He was born in Enterprise on April 25, 1919 to the late Hodgson and Nettie (Huffman) Riddling and had served in the United States Navy from 1939 - 1962. In 1989, Mr. Riddling moved to Melrose from Orange Park; he was a member of Keystone Assembly of God and enjoyed fishing, mowing his yard and being outdoors. Mr. Riddlings wife of 42 years, Pearl (Harpe) Riddling had preceded him in death in 1990. His survivors are his four sons; Bill Riddling, Jr. (Stephanie) of Melrose, Chuck Riddling (Linda) of Green Cove Springs, Robert "Bobby" Riddling (Judy) of Clay Hill and Richard Riddling (Connie) of Wesley Chapel . Also left behind are five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Graveside services for Mr. Riddling will be at Eliam Cemetery in Melrose at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 28, 2016.
