Funeral services for Ernest Clinton Walton Jr., 81, will be held at 1:30p.m. Friday, in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South, with Rev. James Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.Born January 15, 1939 in Jacksonville, Florida to Lucille and Ernest Walton, Sr., Mr. Walton died on Monday, October 5, 2020 in Jacksonville. A retired salesman in the Grocery Industry, he was a graduate of DuPont High School, Class of 1957; served in the United States Army as a sergeant during the Vietnam War; and was a graduate of Jacksonville University, Class of 1966. He was a member of South Jacksonville Presbyterian Church, American Legion Post No. 88 and Arlington Lodge No. 309, F.&A.M.Mr. Walton was predeceased by his sister, Margaret Mae Martin. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Irene Joan Cobb Walton and his daughter, Nicole Margaret Walton, both of Jacksonville.
