He was salutatorian at Temple High School and attended West Georgia College. He lived the last 42 years in Jacksonville, Florida. He enjoyed a career in Insurance sales, eventually owning his own insurance agency. Ernie was always a hard worker who took pride in everything he did, from his hobby of woodworking, to detailing his cars on a regular basis and keeping his yard perfectly manicured. His wonderful work ethic spilled over to his children. Ernie loved to travel and also enjoyed many fun filled years hunting with his lifelong buddies. Ernie enjoyed cooking and all agree that his BBQ ribs were "fall off the bone" perfect, his banana pudding was the best by far, and his fried chicken and sweet-potato crunch will be truly missed.
