Esther Sarria Romero, age 92, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 13th under the care of Community Hospice at Ascension St. Vincents Hospital in Jacksonville. Born on April 28, 1932 in Pinar del Ro, Cuba, Esther was loved by many. She was blessed with a wonderful spirit and a loving heart for all. Across her many years of employment in the Bradford county school system as a para-professional, teachers assistant and pre-K worker, she was known for her love and compassion for children, and her kind words for everyone.She was called "Mima" by so many of those who knew her and was a devoted wife to her husband Epifanio and a loving and dedicated mother to her daughter, Esther.She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years, Dr. Epifanio Romero, her parents, Manuel and Enriqueta Sarria, as well as her sisters, Antonia Vergara, Lorenza Bobadilla, Basilia Vigil, and Nidia Machn and brother, Leocadio Sarria, as well as her grandson, Adam Christopher Hardy and great-grandson Colby James Hardy.She is survived by her daughter, Esther Romero Hardy (Don), her grandson, Donald Hardy, Jr. (Amy) and two great granddaughters, Abigail Hardy and Riley Hardy. She is also survived by her brothers Alfredo, Manolo, and Jorge Sarria and many nieces and nephews who mostly reside in south Florida.If you were blessed to know and work with Mrs. Romero, please join her family in celebrating her life. The family will receive friends at First Baptist Church from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the celebration of life. Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, June 28th at First Baptist Church of Starke, (Pastor Matthew Page & Wailon Haston presiding).
