Eudon
Lanton
Feb 24, 1930 — Dec 9, 2025
Mr. Eudon Lanton, 95, of Fort White, Florida, peacefully passed away on December 9, 2025, at the Lake City VA Hospital. He was born on February 24, 1930, in Dothan, Alabama, to the late Marvin R. Lanton and Lonnie Mae Peterson Lanton, the second oldest of nine siblings.
Eudon left Henry County, Alabama, as a young man and made Florida his lifelong home. It was there that he met and married the love of his life, Harriet Anna White Lanton, who preceded him in death. Together, they raised their five children and opened their hearts and home to their niece and two nephews. Mr. Lanton was deeply proud of his family and is survived by Clair Ziegler, Gene Lanton (Sue), Cheryl Lash (Tim), David Lanton (Darcy), Dena Courtney (Tom), Sandra Davenport, Gary Davenport (Ulla), and Stephen Davenport (Norma), along with his 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A man who loved animals, especially dogs, Eudon grew up farming and continued those traditions throughout his life to help provide for his family. He honorably served in the United States Army before beginning a long career in the maritime industry where he was a dredge and tugboat captain. Eudon will be remembered for his steadfast work ethic, devotion to his family, and the kindness he showed to those around him.
Services for Mr. Lanton will be held at Evans Carter Funeral Home in High Springs, FL, where family and friends will gather at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 15th. Graveside services will follow at High Springs Cemetery.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, and his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
