Evangeline Kay Vannatter "Angie" passed away on May 26, 2017. A visitation will be held at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home 4140 University Boulevard, South Jacksonville, FL 32216 on Friday June 2, 2017 from 6-8PM The funeral service will be held on Saturday June 3, 2017 at 10AM in the chapel of the funeral home. Rev. James R Smith will be officiating. Angie is survived by her loving husband James Vannatter, her mother Jocelyn Atterholt and 2 brothers Rick and Michael Moyer. Born in Coshocton Ohio, Angie earned a BS from the University of Akron and taught school for several years in Ohio before moving to Jacksonville in 1984. She ran a small business here with her husband. Angie will be remembered locally for being a community activist. She served several terms as president of her neighborhood organization (SNAP) overlapping those duties while serving as S.E.CPAC chair. She also served on Transportation and Health committees and the Citizens Advisory Committee for The Better Jacksonville Plan. Her fondest memories came from serving as a Volunteer Chairperson at the Jacksonville Zoo.
