Evelyn Hayden Borges of Penney Retirement Community, Penney Farms, FL, 102, died November 16, 2021 at Penney Farms. Born in Charles City County, VA on April 4, 1919 and resided in Boston and Ipswich, MA for 42 years and Satellite Beach, FL for 7 Years before retiring to Penny Retirement Community in 1994. She was the daughter of the late Sebern and Nellie (Deal) Hayden. Evelyn was retired in 1986 form the Firm of Smith & Ireland, Certified Public Accountants of Hamilton, MA where she worked for 35 years as Staff Accountant and Office Manager. A graduate of Bentley College, Waltham MA (1957) with a degree in Accounting, Finance and Taxation. Memberships in Technical Societies including the National Association of Tax Preparers and The Society of Women Accountants (Boston Chapter), serving on the Board as President (1980). She was a member of the Penney Memorial Church, Penney Farms, FL and served on the Church Board as Treasurer for two terms, Assistant Treasurer for two terms, and the flower committee annually. Also served as Treasurer on the Penney Retirement Community Residents Association. Other volunteer services included the AARP Tax Aide Program preparing tax returns for seniors, assisting aged and shut-in residents with personal finances, bookkeeping for residents Charitable Organization and transportation for shopping. She was the wife of Warren Borges (deceased 1996) and is survived by several nieces and nephews. Burial is December 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Penney Retirement Community Cemetery, Penney Farms, FL.
