Mrs. Evelyn Claudia Henderson, age 94, of Melrose passed away Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Willey Manor Assisted Living Facility. She was born in Jacksonville, August 4, 1920 to the late Claude S. and Elizabeth (Gise) Dubs. Mrs. Henderson was a homemaker and a member of Keystone United Methodist Church. She began her involvement with the Garden Club at Oakwood Circle in Jacksonville which led to her membership of the Garden Club of the Lakes for over 50 years. Mrs. Henderson was a life member of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs; she had also received multiple Horticulture awards. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Walter Scott Henderson, Jr. and her son-in-law, Harvey Davis. Mrs. Henderson is survived by her three daughters, Toni Davis and Mary Lou Dailey (Tom) all of Melrose and Connie Pentland (Tom) of Land OLakes and one nephew, Ron Dubs (Linda) of Jacksonville. Also left behind are her five grandchildren, Lyn Brooks, Chris Dailey (Jeannette), Brian Dailey (Shannon), Erin Senior (David) and Colleen Lally (Peter) along with nine great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Memorial services will be Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Keystone United Methodist Church with Dr. Tom Farmer and Dr. Craig Moore officiating.
