Obituary

March 29, 1952 – February 17, 2026

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Fernando Luis Fernandez, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who left this world on February 17, 2026, at the age of 73. Born in Havana, Cuba, on March 29, 1952, Fernando came to the United States as a child and built a life defined by resilience, hard work, and devotion to his family.

Fernando began working at just 13 years old, determined to create a better future. He earned a degree in Business and Marketing from the University of Florida and became a successful self-employed glazer and business owner in Gainesville. Through his work, he supported his family while mentoring and giving opportunities to others, often helping young men land their first jobs or offering second chances to those in need.

A skilled craftsman, Fernando could build or repair almost anything and shared these skills with others, teaching patience, discipline, and pride in one's work. He valued experiences over material things, creating lasting memories through family trips, adventures, and shared projects. Above all, he was a devoted family man, always present at school events, sports meets, and milestones, offering encouragement, support, and unwavering love.

Fernando was also known for his humor, storytelling, and ability to make others feel welcome and valued. His strong presence, integrity, and generosity left a lasting mark on everyone who knew him.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Rosa Fernandez; his children, Gisela, Blanca, Carmen, and Fernando; his sister, Perla Fernandez; his nephew, Alexander Abaroa; his grandniece, Alexandra Abaroa; and his mother-in-law, Gisela Reyes, along with countless friends and extended family members. Fernando's legacy is one of hard work, faith, generosity, and love, and his spirit lives on in the lives he touched and the family he cherished.

May Fernando Luis Fernandez rest in eternal peace.
