Mr. Forest Eugene Porter, 73 of Hawthorne passed away at his home on Monday, April 26, 2010. Mr. Porter was born in Shelbyville, KY on April 28, 1936 to the late Robert and Amanda (Rogers) Porter. Mr. Porter and his wife moved to Hawthorne almost 22 years ago from Kentucky and attended the First Baptist Church of Keystone Heights. He was a retired Truck Driver, he served in the United States Navy, and loved his plants. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carol Ann (Potts) and their children, Pattie Underwood and Jimmy Porter all of Hawthorne. He is also survived by his siblings, Tommy Porter of KY, Stella Wendell of AZ, and Mamie Birtley of FL, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A memorial service for Mr. Porter will be held on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at 11 Oclock Noon in the First Baptist Church of Keystone Heights with Pastor Jim Prose officiating.
