Obituary

Mrs. Frances Ganey Strickler 84, of Keystone Heights passed away on Aug. 2, 2011 at the Haven Hospice of The Lakes in Palatka. Mrs. Strickler was born on April 17, 1927 in Jacksonville to the late Riley and Gladys (Beem) Ganey, and has been a resident of Keystone Heights since 2000 moving here from North Carolina. She was a Parishioner of the St. William Catholic Church, Extra Ordinary Minister of Holy Communion, and was also the Treasurer for the Senior Center in Keystone. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Lenny Strickler on July 22, 2011. Survivors are her children, Patricia Poage of Keystone Heights, Leslie Smith (Susan) of Aurora, CO, Jack Smith (Gail) of Parker, CO, and Larry Strickler (Annette) of Belleview, NB. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter. Viewing for Mrs. Strickler will be held at the JONES-GALLAGHER Funeral Home on Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2011 from 5-7 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be on Thursday, Aug. 4, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. in the St. William Catholic Church with Father Mike Williams presiding. Burial will follow at the Keystone Heights Cemetery. In lieu of the flowers the family is asking for contributions to please be made to the American Cancer Society, 2119 SW 16th St. Gainesville, FL 32608.
