Francis "Frank" Mccleary Dreessen

Mr. Francis (Frank) McCleary Dreessen, age 84 of Starke, passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018. He was born on February 17,1934, grew up in Maryland, served and retired as an officer from the US Navy, resided in Jacksonville, FL and made Starke, Florida his home for the past 26 years. Frank has joined his loving first wife Helen, devoted wife Phyllis Carver Dreessen, and parents in heaven. Frank will forever be remembered by his beloved children, Karen Dreessen Higgins, Jeanne (Dave) Sutton, Lynn D. Moffat, F. Michael Dreessen, Terry J. Carver (Mary), treasured grandchildren Andrew (Charlene) Carver, Zachary Carver, Courtney (Patrick) Ingoldsby, Bailey Turner, Spencer Turner, Gary Higgins, and Cody Stinnett. Frank loved God and was an active and devoted member of St. Edward Catholic Church. Frank also served alongside Phyllis at the First United Methodist Church of Starke. He was a true Officer and Gentleman. While serving in the US Navy he traveled extensively, received numerous awards and commendations, and had various trophies attesting to his love for sports. Frank was an artist and always drew a funny cartoon on birthday cards. Spending summers in Iowa as a child gave him a constant fascination with farming and many people in the Starke area were recipients of his farm fresh eggs. Frank was an avid Florida Gator fan and enjoyed attending games.A Celebration of Life service in honor of Frank and Phyllis will be at held at the First United Methodist Church of Starke on September 18, 2018. Please stop in at the Fellowship Hall from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm and share stories of Frank and Phyllis life.
