Mr. Francis James Long, 71, of Fleming Island died Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at his residence from a extended illness. Mr. Long was born in Jersey City, NJ on March 31, 1939 to the late Daniel and Gretchin Long. He proudly served the United States Air Force for 5 _ years. He was of the Catholic Faith and had been a resident of Fleming Island for the past 15 years moving from Baltimore, Maryland, where he was the District Manager of the Baltimore Maryland Sun Newspaper. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Carole (Norwood) Long of Fleming Island. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with services to follow at 7:00 p.m. A private burial will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Penney Farms Cemetery.
