Frank P. Ward, 67, of Gainesville, passed away February 11, 2012. Frank was born in Philadelphia, PA and graduated from the University of Maryland. After several moves with Montgomery Ward, Frank joined the IRS and moved to Nashville, Tennessee. In 1986, again with the IRS, Frank moved to Gainesville as the Agent in Charge for both Gainesville and Ocala offices. In 1993 Frank opened his CPA practice and a few years later joined the University of Florida as the Director of Business Services for the UF Research and Graduate Programs. He was a member of Holy Faith Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the Quarterback Club. He was an avid Gator fan.He is preceded in death by his parents Francis and Doris Ward, sister Kathleen Kelly, and son Kevin Ward. He is survived by a son, Patrick Ward of Gainesville, brother Thomas Ward of Mill Creek, Illinois, and special friends, "Uncle" Ralph and Peggy Walker, along with extended family and many friends.A memorial mass will be held on February 18, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Holy Faith Catholic Church, 747 NW 43rd Street, Gainesville FL with Father John Phillips officiating.
