Obituary

Mr. Frank S. Brunt age 92 of Keystone Heights passed away Friday, June 2, 2023, in Gainesville. He was born December 31, 1930, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Murray and Alvina (Kenchel) Brunt. Mr. Brunt proudly served in the United States Navy retiring as 1st Class ADR. Following his retirement from the military, he attended Bible College in North Carolina and upon graduation went to the Mission Field and served in Mexico for several years. After returning to the U.S. he continued his career in many areas: from security at the Jacksonville Jail, to travelling with Servicemaster as a hospital housekeeping consultant, to retiring as the Director of Housekeeping for Alachua General Hospital. He was a faithful member and servant of Hope Baptist Church, Beulah Baptist church and most recently a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He enjoyed teaching Sunday school and fostering others in their Christian walk. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, RV camping and woodworking. We cant forget the joy he had when riding his Gold Wing Motorcycle across the country with Elizabeth on the back! In addition to his parents, twin brother Alan, brother Murray of San Jose and oldest sister Pat of San Francisco he was also preceded in death by his daughter Sally Brunt Goodwin and two son in-laws Terry Hilton, of Tucson and Gary Kwasney of Kalispell. Mr. Brunts survivors are his loving wife of nearly 69 years Elizabeth (Lipham) Brunt of Keystone Heights and their three children Stephen Brunt (Pamela, grandson Nathan, (Toni and Luke) Keystone Heights, also grandson Aaron (Casey and Abigail) of Palm Coast), Ashley Kwasney of Kalispell, Montana, and Jennifer Hilton of Tucson, Arizona along with a sister Susan Fogerty of San Francisco, California. Mr. Brunt was also lovingly called "Granddaddy" by nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. A Celebration of Life for Mr. Brunt will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023, in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joey Hay officiating. A private interment will take place at Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial gifts can be made to L.A.M.P.O. Box 1385, Keystone Heights, FL 32656.
