Frank James 'Jim' Rodriguez

Funeral services for Frank James Rodriguez, 99, will be held at 10:00a.m. Friday, from the graveside, in Chapel Hills Memory Gardens with Rev. Billy W. Jones of Englewood Baptist Church officiating.Born April 2, 1921, in Brooklyn, New York, to Julia and Anthony Rodriguez, Mr. Rodriguez died Friday, July 31, 2020 in a local hospital. He served in the United States Army during World War II as a Master Sergeant and was awarded both the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. Mr. Rodriguez was an automobile tire dealer. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Salt Springs, Florida and formerly a member of Englewood Baptist Church in Jacksonville.Survivors include his daughter, Ms. Janet Lynn "Linda" Spencer of Jacksonville; four grandchildren, Frank Wiley, Gene Wiley, Crystal Spencer and Kimberly Spencer; and a host of nieces and nephews.Funeral arrangements are under the direction of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Boulevard, South where friends may call from 9:00a.m. until 9:00p.m. on Thursday.
