BARNES: Fred S. Barnes passed away on March 7, 2017. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida and was the owner of Barnes Underwater Service Co.. He was a retired electrician with St. Regis Paper Company and was a member of First Baptist Church, Ezra Lodge #67 F & A.M., and The Jax Jetty Jumpers. He was preceded in death by his son, Wesley Barnes and niece, Kathy Storfer; Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Joyce Wade Barnes; 2 daughters, Wanda Barnes and Wannelle Parvey (Fred); 1 daughter- in- law, Jan Barnes; 1 son, Wayne Barnes (Carol); 1 sister, Betty Alderman Fridell ; 1 sister- in- law, Dorothy Simmons; 4 grandchildren, Wendy Barnes Thomassen (Maurice), Joshua Barnes, Joseph Parvey (Kim), and David Parvey; 4 great-grandchildren, Ian, Eva, Lillian, and Isaac ; 3 nephews, Norman Barnes (Charlene), and Mark Alderman (Karen), Ballard Simmons (Marilyn); And 1 niece, Laura Goodrich . Funeral services will be held Monday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206 with Rev. Steve McCollum officiating.
