Mr. Freddie Leon Witt, Age 80, of Keystone Heights, FL passed away peacefully at his home onThursday, May 15, 2025. He was born August 4, 1944, in Alachua, FL to Alfred and Elzie (Campbell)Witt. Freddie was the baby of the family, little brother to Mable, Ed, and Wayne. He grew up inJacksonville and graduated from Ribault High School. After his honorable discharge from the ArmyNational Guard, Fred began a career at S&W Trailer Company in Jacksonville. Eventually, Fred and hisfamily would escape the busyness of city life for peace and quiet in the small town of Keystone Heights.Here, Fred lived a long life of self-employment, fishing, boating, and hot-rodding in his beloved 1955Chevy Bel-Air, as well as being a patron of the American Legion Post 202.Freddie leaves behind his loving daughter, Joanie Witt Zipperer (Randy) of Evans, GA, brotherEd Witt of Jacksonville, FL, and was lovingly called "Papa" by four wonderful grandchildren, AudreyZipperer Hill (James), Abigail Zipperer, Joshua Zipperer and Anna Zipperer along with two great-grandchildren, Jude and August. Also left behind is his former spouse, Joan Starling Witt of KeystoneHeights, FL and step-son, Jerry Millikin (Patricia) and loving companion, Elaine Miller.Fred will be missed by his loved ones including many nieces, nephews, extended familymembers and an amazing group of friends he cherished and who were always there to help in times ofneed.A celebration of Freds life will be held at 12:00 p.m. May 31, 2025, in the Jones GallagherFuneral Home Chapel with Brent Beaird officiating.
